New Medea 4K projector delivers high performance for home theaters and media rooms

Offering stunning image quality and a powerful laser light engine, Barco Residential's new Medea projector enables custom integrators to provide an exceptional experience to more clients. Featuring class-leading brightness levels, a high level of detail, highly saturated colors, sharper images and less latency, Medea delivers stunning images at 4K UHD resolution with HDR10 support. The outstanding image quality is powered by a new optical engine and laser light source, providing significantly improved image uniformity, nearly instant on/off, and a light source life of up to 40,000 hours for maximum performance and convenience.

Sharing the same advanced control system as the award-winning Balder and Loki projectors, Medea provides comprehensive PC- or Mac-based remote configuration and control from the best seat in any home theater or media room.

State-of-the-art electronics

All new “Pulse” electronics are built on a superior FPGA platform featuring a dualcore processor on the industry’s only 20 nm SoChave, with 96 transceiver lanesdelivering 3.3 Tbps of serial bandwidth. It has been designed to process 4K withHDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 and HDR10 with extremely low latency, thanks to ourunique single step processing technology. Barco’s RealColor processing enablessimple and accurate calibration to any desired white point or greyscale.


Award Winning DLP technology

Medea utilises the very latest 0.66-Inch Diagonal Micromirror Array from TI, itDisplays 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) 3840 × 2160 Pixels on the Screen, features a5.4 Micron Micromirror Pitch and a ±17° Micromirror Tilt (Relative to Flat Surface).

Laser light source

Medea is packed with a brand new laser engine. Alongside significantly improvedimage uniformity, lasers last longer than traditional projector lamps, are not as fragileand offer nearly instant on/off. Light output is up to 5,500 lumens.
